87 Softail cutting out/dying

My second thought is if the fuel bowl is empty the accelerator pump is not going to spray

But I'm not saying you don't have a fuel delivery problem, could be trash in float needle, bad float, bad petcock, tank not venting

My 84 would just stop occasionally.
It was a loose nut on a breaker under the dash cover.
Tightened it up and no problem after that.

I had a similar deal on my fxr, mine was a loose nut for the grounds under the ignition module on the side of the bike

The main 50 amp breaker went in my 97 FLHT. Ran great 'til it got hot, then would just shut off. At first I thought it was a fuel issue.

On my FXR, had a similar problem, went through the fuel system, then ignition, no luck. What I did find, somehow my seat was just barely touching one of the battery posts, especially on the shitty freeways around me. And when it did, well, it cut out!
