Default 1998 FLHTCUI Speedometer/ Trip OD

Hey gang,

The trip odometer isn't working. I can reset it to zero and it will go to 19 miles. It stops there.

The speedometer is working and the odometer is okay too. Hopefully it is not a progressive thing!

Has anyone else seen this issue? I'm sure changing out the front wheel speedo drive will do nothing and I don't like throwing parts at issues.

In my search I've seen a few posts about a small shop that rebuilds them but I'm not that far yet. In fact I dread going inside the fairing and would upgrade the sound system as the Evo forum says; While yer in there....

Thanks!

It's an easy fix... if you have patience and spare parts. The middle and/or left wheel has a chipped dog and you'd need a junk speedo to rob for parts.

Otherwise, send it to a speedometer repair service. Almost any of them "should" be able to fix it. Powl's in Lancaster, PA has a good rep if there's not one closer to you.

You can run it like that long as you want, not gonna do any more damage.

Ok!
Thanks for the link. I did look them up and that's their business.
I was hoping you would have said to oil it up and it was fine.

I have a shovelhead speedo but that might be worth holding on to versus robbing it.
