I have a 1992 fxrs and would like a ham can air filter. When I search them up all I get is the ones for shovelheads but I know for a fact they were put on evos. So I was wondering if anyone could point me in the direction of finding one
I know the early Evos didn't have the CV carb, not sure if that makes a difference but the hamcan from a late Shovel should fit I believe at least on an early Evo since they had the same carb if memory serves.
Not too sure about fitting one to a CV,many years ago I swapped a CV40 from a later FXR on to my early '84 Evo FXRS but I can't remember if I got the air cleaner with the newer carb or used the old one. I think I got the air cleaner with the newer carb, pretty sure the old Keihin carb was a 38.
Your '92 of course has the CV40 so that may be were you run into a fitment issue.
