Default 1994 Electra Glide Oil Change

I have a service manual and owners manual for the bike. I have been chasing what I have thought is a leak. It may still be. Anyways it dawned on me after looking and checking and working on this lovely evo, I think its coming out of the ventilation. After research I have found that guys say that you cant go off the manual as you have some oil left in the crankcase unless you scavange it out. Anyways I am wanting to find out whats the best way to this so maybe I dont have this problem anymore as I plan to change the oil while I am on vacation which will be this week or next.

No, you don't need to get the last couple ounces out of the crank case. The shop manual actually says not to do that anyway. And that won't cause a leak. You trust some guys on the internet more than your shop manual? Don't do that. Unless it's us guys saying to go by the shop manual.

Some blow by is normal, and if coming out the breather, that's where it's going to go. Should not be much, though, depending on lots of things.

Drain old oil. Replace drain plug. Remove old filter. Put new filter on. Fill with oil (ZOMG, WHAT OIL SHOULD I USE?) Check for leaks. Ride.

When you change the oil and filter, put 3 quarts / 3 litres of your choice of oil. Start the bike up and run for a few minutes. Let the bike sit on its jiffy stand. Then check the oil. It will show somewhere on the dipstick, above the add oil mark. Top it up but keep it about 1/4 below the cold mark. From then on check the oil when its hot and go by that reading. Don't overfill as it can build up enough pressure to push the dipstick plug out.
