Obviously the bore is too small or the plunger is too big.. .001-.0015 is the normal for clearance.. As Larry said.. Send them back.. I would go with S&S or HI-LIFT.. PM WFOLarry, I'm sure he'll set you up..

I'm going to save up a few more pennies and get some S&S tappets and quikkie pushrods

Oh... So, could be Anything... that sucks
sorry this happened to you. I will "get mine" soon enough, as I am Experimenting with lifters as we Converse... don't guess I'll put Teds stuff on the list!!

Soak the new ones overnight in a cup of oil, helps on virgin installs.

I guess I cannot see how/why, helpful... but... simple enough to go ahead and do it.. Will do.

Don`t bother soaking them, just get a pump oil can and pump them full.

They soaked for almost a week in a jar of new oil (life happened and I got delayed)
