Default 1990 Grey Ghost Registry

Hi All,

I am a big fan of the 1990 Harley Davidson Fat Boy aka the Grey Ghost. I know there are many people who share the love for this motorcycle.
A few weeks ago I launched a website where all 1990 FLSTF motorcycles can be registered so we can estimate how many are still riding around today and where!
If any people on this forum owns one or if you know someone who owns one, could you please register your bike? It's; easy, ,quick, free & no strings attached. It's all for the love of the bike!

Thanks in advance!

The website contains information about the bike and about the "myth" with which the motorcycle is associated

Interesting, I’ve always thought the ‘90 Fatboy and it’s back story to be way cool.

All I get from your link is a list of 30 bikes “registered”, no website with model info.

Check your link!

I like the idea. And agree completely with the idea that the history of that model is really something worth remembering.

The way I remember the story goes like this: By the time 1990 came around, HD was on a roll. Thanks to the Evo motor (and, perhaps, the Softail frame as well) they had emerged from their 1970's-early 80's doldrums and were back on top of the world. Sales were strong and getting stronger. Time to declare victory.

But not just victory, it was time to declare that the MoCo had vanquished the Japanese.

So they deliberately designed a bike that evoked "Fat Man" and "Little Boy", as if to say "Here we are, 45 years later, and we just nuked you guys all over again!"

That was a straight up slap in the face of the Japanese.

Its a little depressing that, thirty years later, today's HD would never do that. Too "racist" or "problematic" or whatever. Can't risk offending anyone, now can we?

There’s some significance to the yellow stripes on the rocker boxes etc too.

Maybe instead of being pc, the motor company is a bit embarrassed that they celebrated (bragged) about being viable again, while watching Honda dominate the world market in motorcycle sales.

HD is only really competitive here in the US and only on bikes over a certain weight… HD IS kinda specialized.

Harley actually back pedaled on this bike and it's myth.

Co-worker has one, just rebuilt the carb and did some research on it's history, I'll work on getting it in the registry

Be interesting to see how many are still in original condition (sans tires of course).

Have a friend who has one. Original right done to the exhaust. I remember when he bought it the left gas tank ended up with gas staining between the gel coat finish and the paint surface. He had to show the VIN# and his title to get a replacement tank. Back then they did not even want the original tank back. They just sent him a replacement left tank covered under warranty.

In original condition I would imagine they probably retain a decent value.

Coworker's Ghost has bags and a S&S carb, other than that it's non molested, they didn't know what they the bike was until I told them, relative sold it to them at a whopping $3500, I offer $3600 daily lol. It puked oil from sumping on them, I should of told him the engine was junk and offer purchase price but too honest to do that.

A file is attached at the bottom of it running
