According to the manual the TDC mark on the crank should be a line, I seem to have a dot, anyone else have this?

 

It varies and the manual assumes you have the original crank in there. Set up to tdc with the plugs out, see what mark you have and then rotate motor backwards until you see the advance mark...write them down...job done.
