I went to the painter today. He priced it at about what I was expecting for the paint job.
However, the powdeecoater threw a wrench in the mix. He can powdercoat the tank the exact color I want for two hundred bucks. The downside is I would need the pinstriped to do the flames.
Has anyone here ever had a gas tank powdercoated before?
Something to think about, is painting the tank yourself, I did same when I had my sportster, grant it I did not do any pin striping I did lay out the flames and painted it with rattle cans, and put on about for coats of polyurethane, then took it to a professional painter to clear coat ($120) and IMO turned out pretty good and very gratifying (see pic) that I did it myself.

Hey Jason, clear out your excess PM's.. I was trying to PM you but the forum said it's full.. Looking for info about a set of pipes you once had..
I purchased a set of Hookers with the tunable baffle and did a little research on them and it looks like you once had a set of them... How did you like them and how well did they perform?? If you have any tips or knowledge about them I would appreciate it.. Thanks Bob..
