My Softail is going through changes!
Here is the game plan.....
1. Sportster front end (narrowglide)
2. Mount an alien tank
3. Get the alien tank painted
4. Rewire to simplify it
5. A little bit taller narrow apes
6. Maybe build a new sissybar
My bike is already very simplified with wiring. No horn, hand controls, turn signals, or start button. I am already running a automotive style ignition switch mounted on the motor mount.
Photos to follow tomorrow of the new tank. I already have it and blind hole threaded bungs. I just need to do mock up and pick up more parts from the swapmeet.

Once you get that narrow front end and peanut tank on there you'll see what I'm talking about.
Get out your Sawsall and cut off the rear frame horns, ditch the fastback seat and fender.
Get a flat 6" wide flat trailer fender and fab it to ride with the swing arm so the whole set up looks like a rigid frame from 20 feet away. Maybe a spoto tail light on a sissy bar with your plate below it.
I guess you realize that the floorboards have to go too huh? I'd fab up some twisted railroad spike foot pegs on both mid-bike and off the front engine mount.
That will distance you from somebody bolting on parts to somebody actually building a bike.

I got the petcock in but the inlet tube was hitting the tunnel and it wouldn't thread in. I did some shopping for other petcocks but couldn't find any with a reserve. I was laying in the guest room on the bed with the tank pondering. I came up with the idea of shortening the pickup tube. Now she fits
