Blue are valve seals- browns are for the rocker box bolts.

I have the oem manual, just starting to reassemble. Checking everything prior to starting.

I won’t need the valve guides… I had a machine shop do a valve job.

do the brown o-rings seat into the heads to seal the push rods?

I want to use the right o-ring in the right spot

The brown o-ring looks to be the right size for the upper pushrod tube.

When your installing the rocker covers, you want a felt washer against the cover, a copper washer on top of that, and the original chrome washer on top of that to make it look pretty.

As stated, the 8 bronze washer and same size gaskets, are for the top rocker cover bolts, Copper will go on top with bottom of allen head bolts on top of that, and the gaskets will go under the bronze washers, against the top of rocker covers.

The 4 blues are the replacement valve guide seals,

The bottom O rings are for the top of push rod covers (4) , where the top of them go up through the channel in the bottom of the rocker bases.
Note here, since they did not include the rest of the O rings for the push rod tubes, do your self a favor and pull the push rods apart, clean them up, and if your going to re-use the old O ring in the lower push rod covers, make sure to apply a good does of silicone grease (dielectric grease) to the O rings.
Also, if you pull the lower O ring in the top of the lifter blocks to clean and lube them, make sure they go back in the same top side you pulled them out.

Myself, unless the push rod cover O rings are perfect round still and no signs of dry cracking, would just get new o rings for them to begin with. You already have the top ones (if they are not jug locator O ring for the head gasket), so just need the other 8 of them (4 middle and 4 bottoms).
Note the 4 o rings that you have, are the same color for the jug locator O rings for a head gasket, but your look thicker, so guessing they are top of push rod covers to the bottom of the rocker boxes. But would still place the head gasket on top of the jug,and look at the gap between the head gasket to locator pins, to see if that may be what the O rings are for instead.

__________________________________________________ __________

And going to throw this in, for someone that may have gotten a James single piece head gasket, and not a MLS gasket, since some of the James single plate gaskets still need to use the O rings around the locator sleeves in the jugs, with the single piece head gaskets.

The quick way to check if you need to use the locator O rings or not with the head gasket, is to place the gasket on top of the head and see what the gap looks like to the location pin sides. If you need to use the O rings, then going to tell quickly, since gasket will not fit tight to locator sleeve to begin with.
