Default Stator shims

Hi all. Im new here. Hoping to improve my knowledge. I have a 1996 evo engine out of a heritage softail. My question is. What is the proper way of determining which size shims and or spacers go on the crankshaft on either side of the flywheel and before the compensator.
Thanks in advance. Will

So stator bolts tight to case, then washer/spacer 16 29961-85 on shaft before rotor, rotor installed, then spacer/washer 15/8 (couple different ones, and its used to align from comp gear with clutch basket gear), then comp goes on.
