Default Wheel question

Have a 98 Heritage, could I use the 2000 up spoke wheels with sealed bearings or do I have to stick with the timkin wheels. Reason for asking is someone has a minty set for cheap and my rims and tires have seen better days.

Depends on the wheels. Need to be set up for 3/4 inch axles some later ones are 1 inch or 25mm. You'll need to change the disks or bore the centers out. You'll need to replace the outside spacers.

Well I’m looking to swap over to the 2000 up fork sliders so I can add the 4 pot caliper.
My bike got beat up pretty bad my house burned down in February so I’m starting with a clean slate as most of the chrome is ruined the paint, handle bar wiring, the main harness is perfect. The rims were already not so great, tires unfortunately were almost new but I wouldn’t trust them with the heat they were subjected to

If you're upgrading the sliders to 2000 up there's no reason the 2000 up spoke rims won't work either but you will have to get a brake rotor with a 2.2 center cuz that was one thing they changed.. You'll also need the 2000 up spacers.. The 4 pot calipers should bolt up no problem..
Sorry for your loss.. Hope all is well..
When I went to 2000 up rims I found the hubs were wider..

If your 98 has a cable drive speedo from the front wheel you'll have to have the new axle machined to fit it.
The speedo drive needed to be milled down and ( I think) a new spacer made as well.
I have a 97 flht so it may all be different.

Not sure, The older ones the caliper and the mount are separate and the newer ones are all one piece.. I saw one on eBay for like 80 bucks.. if you want to give it a shot.. Not a lot of cash to find out.. I don't know of anybody that's swapped the rear out....
Not sure if the mound is thicker or thinner requiring different spacers and where does it line up the caliper to the brake rotor to the 2000 up rims they could have different size hubs as well..
I think it would be a trial and error thing.. Maybe somebody's done one I don't know..
