Now that I have a 4 pot caliper on the front of my 95 heritage classic I’m finding the “shortfalls” of my forks.
rides nice but dives pretty hard under braking.
any recommendations?
would stiffer springs do the trick?
other bikes iv had iv used heavier fork fluid but i always found the ride suffered as well…
The Heritage and Fatboy have some of the softest suspensions for a non-Touring bike.. They do dive.. I first put in Progressive heavy springs in the front because I always liked the firmer feel and I thought they did a really good job.. I set the plug a 1/2-in longer than recommended.. You Can try different lengths plugs (to adjust sag and feel) to see what works best for you.. After I went 2" over on my front end I went with the Progressive cartridge setup and must say it's the best feel I've ever had on this bike in the 20 some odd years I owned it.. Well worth the $300.. However if you're interested in the progressive heavy springs I took out of my OEM front end, PM me I'm sure we can work it out...
