Now I’m on to the motor, got an Andrews 46 cam Dyna 2000 ignition and coil, Weisco 10.1 pistons, sending the heads out to WFO Larry for light porting. Coming along, I’m not divorced yet soooo lol.
That's a good upgrade for the front braking system.. Earlier you mentioned possibly going to an S&S E, I wouldn't bother if you got the 42.. That's money kind of wasted.. You're not going to see much difference in performance there..
So you know from 98 up all primaries were geared 25/36, your original was a 24/37.. I currently run a 24 front with a 36 basket and it's kind of like the best of both worlds especially when you have more power in the motor to drive it..
The cam should work well but I would definitely go with 10.5 to 1 Pistons. You'll get the best bang of compression for that cam 41°.. Or at least have the heads shaved to achieve 10.2:1.. I'm not sure the dome size of those pistons so I can't calculate what size combustion chambers you'll need to achieve 10.2 to 1 but Larry should know all that..
For the heads Are you going with 1.90 IN and 1.61 EX?
Also sorry for your loss on the house and the bikes that sucks.. I imagine soon though you should be back into your new home.. Good luck..

Hey Bud thanks for the long comment, my bike is a 98 and it has the 25/36 comp clutch, that’s why I picked up the 24/37. It’s not going to be a highway cruiser. For the heads Larry gave me the option of going with the larger intake or just a standard porting with stock components and a good valve job. I figured I’m not racing just want the combo to work good, the 46 was chosen more for the lopy idle lol. The heads we will shave a bit and run a .030 head gasket. As for the carb I’m not sure I should use the old 42 after being in a fire?? The only reason for the E carb was it’s easy to set, I know the 42 makes more power.
