Found a shop to do them. They will determine if the valves/springs/guides are within spec. We will see what happens after I drop them off Wednesday.

Heads are done. Everything cleaned up and was within spec. The only hiccup was pulling the exhaust studs. One had to be drilled out and rethreaded. Diamond cut the surface. Total was 590.

Next is putting them on, putting the lifter rods in, and the rockers on. I hope to get that done before I head out for the summer.

I am using cometic gaskets. torqued down using the proper order of torque, 9,14,22,35,45 Lbs/ft. But I did diagonal sequence NOT what they specified. I ****ed up. Should I back the nuts off and retorque them in the proper order? Or will that ‘damage’ the gaskets since they have been torqued down once already? I am inclined to back the nuts off and retorque.

Did you put a little lube on the studs and the flange of the bolt? if so I wouldn't worry about it.. 45 lb ft sounds high.. All I ever seen was up to 42..

I did not put lube on the studs. I stored the nuts soaking in oil for several days. I then chased them, soaked overnight and then swabbed them out.
