Sorry for not checking in yesterday...I was a busy boy. I'm just waiting for the timing cup but looking at that diagram I'm feeling pretty good about it lol. Only thing I didn't do was the pink tach wire to the green but I'll do it tomorrow. I believe that the fuel gauge should work, there were 3 wires running to the tank neck...im thinking, never assume, that one is power for the fuel pump which is now in a box ,one is for the gas gauge and the other is for the ground. Ill check the manual and see which one was the pump and I'll tape it off. Uh...what else...oh timing the the timing cup. I've seen people just bolt it in and I've seen people set the front cylinder to TDC and then they install the cup. I see the cup has a little indent that must sequence it? If that's the case then it shouldn't matter what stroke the motor is on because they'll always be indexed together...yes ...no? Hopefully I'll be up and running Wednesday evening...my dog is pretty upset about her lack of riding time. Thanks again for the help...hopefully I'll be back tomorrow and report it's alive and well. Then on to the stator.

Yes, the indent indexes the cup. I've read of people complaining about cheap cups and issues, but you can get OEM still now and then if you want.
Blue loctite on clean dry cup bolt going into a clean dry female threads. Make sure the boss on the cup engages the notch on the cam, centered and aligned.
I sincerely wish I would have taken a picture of my 5 gallon bucket I filled with that satanic MM wiring harness once removed. It was liberating. Removing that crap and throwing all 8 lbs of crap in the trash really felt good. If I’d of taken a pic I’d blow it up on 11x17 and frame it in the garage. Keep it simple, keep it pure.

Hell yes...i pulled all of that mess right out. In a box on a shelf, way on top never to haunt another human again lol. I did scavenge the correct wires out of it to connect the new ignition to the coil. I figured if someone besides me got into it in the future that might help them make heads or tails out of it.
Of course my new cup failed to arrive today despite paying 30 extra bucks for priority mail. I was going to be mad about it but its just the way it is. I have plenty of other things to work on and it was a good time to start the stator teardown. I was caught by the fuel filter screen that doesn't fit through the petcock today lol...the curse of the "kit" i guess. The fittings were pingel so i just assumed, yup i know, that the petcock was pingel as well...it is not lol. So an inline filter will go in tomorrow. Tomorrow's another day
Someone is going to want your MM parts. If I wasnt on the other side of the continent and border Id be trying to get some spares from you.
S&S is Gods intended solution.. but I think he accepts looking the other way a CV. Its time to choose a side. We stand for him or we stand for EFI with Satan.

Well I want nothing to do with Satan but so far my MM EFI is running great. I think lack of available parts is going to be its downfall.
