A well known and respected Harley tech recommends drilling the rock box drain back holes to 9/64 to reduce oil spray from the breathers.
Has anyone tried this or recommend this?
I did it on my twinkie when I converted to open air breather. I don't have any oil drippage from the breather except a little after I rode the Dragon and kept the RPMs up for 11 miles and 318 turns. .
Never had to drill the Evo drain back holes bigger.. The key here is replacing the umbrella valves and only use the green OEM ones.. They are the best.. part# 26856-89a
I am vented to the outside, not the carb. I drilled mine when I had things apart. It helped, but as mentioned after a spirited ride I still get a drop where I park. Nature of the beast.

Maybe it's time to do a leak down check... I'm still pretty dry..
Nah, this bike runs great. I am direct vented straight down to the outside. The bike did this before my top end (and valve job) and after. Although just a little less after. I did the 9/64 drill bit. If anything, it's probably the cometic umbrella valves.
A normal ride is no issues. Spirited ride or pulling off the highway and park like going to lunch, I come out after and I might have one drop. Not going to worry about it. As mentioned, this bike runs great and you know the old saying, if it ain't broke.
I have the green ones stashed away somewhere in the shop, so when I ever have to take the valve covers off for something, I will swap them out. I'm in no hurry.
Just did a quick google/ebay search and it looks like the green ones are getting hard to find.
@Yankee Dog
Pretty sure they are still available through the MOCO...
I just did a quick search only. The thing I found was searching that part number, the dark colored ones AND the green ones come up using the same part number. But mostly the dark colored ones. So I guess if someone was ordering the part, they need to ask the parts person for the green ones...
