Default Colony head bolts

I am planning on doing some top end work on my 1996 80" Dyna, and I want to start fresh with new head bolts. HD is getting around $90 for a set. Driving to my area dealership is a PIA, and it seems in their infinite wisdom HD has made it about impossible to buy OEM from online dealers now. Thanks HD!

So I wonder what the word is on Colony? Those will show up at my door for less than the OEMs that I will have to fight FL traffic for. Anyone have any experience here?

IDK anything about Colony head bolts, but I recently bought parts online from Ronnie's HD without a problem.

Colony bolts are good. I’ve used their case bolts. No problems.

I looked into them a little recently when I broke an outer primary bolt. From what I found online they were a good brand and make a good product.

I ended up buying stainless bolts from AlloyBoltz.com because I was only able to find chrome plated Colony bolts,

I use Colony all the time on Antique bikes, never an issue or a broken bolt, good luck.

Yes, to clarify sleeved head bolts, not the studs. And not chrome. As much as I like shiny, the idea of putting a hard plating on the surface of a material that is flexed and stretched doesn't seem like a great idea to me. Looking at Colony zinc right now.

I'm using Colony cylinder studs and head bolts on my 90 Fat Boy restoration. I read about them before buying and didn't see anything negative. Glad to hear others have had good luck with them.

Lol, I think the #1 reason people change the left side bolts is to have new shiny chrome ones, can't see the right side.
Zinc is a plating also, never heard of a problem with chrome.

I used Colony head bolts on my 1250 upgrade, no issues.
