I would mount the 140, and see if it fits with no mods, I just mounted a 140 on my 1988 E Glide, with 0 problems, plenty of clearance, stock is a 130 90, which is the same as the MT90, I know they are different bikes but the 140 is not a huge leap in size, I went with the Avon Cobra Chrome (RevZilla has them for like $170), and it's just a smidgen wider than the Shinko 250 (model # not the size) that was on there.

I wonder how chain/belt alignment will deal with simply spacing the rear to clear the tire????
I thought faaaat wheels went the way of the bell bottom pants, maybe its coming back?
Here's a quick picture of tire/pully/belt there is a good 1/4" between tire and belt, frame/fender, I know would be different, not sure what tire brand you are considering, but I would check with them on what rim size they're tire requires.
