I wonder if the newer model shocks will alter the recommended air pressure. EDIT: I see the specs are pretty identical. Trying to find a cheaper low volume no loss pump is like surfing through garbage. I see a used progressive pump online, might make an offer.
Even searching for low pressure they fill the page with high pressure pumps from 160-300 psi, making the gauge much less accurate for fine tuning. I took my old one apart several times yesterday and changed o-rings and such, but couldn't get it to stop leaking past the bleeder button. Might try again today.
BONUS! Third time reassembling my hand pump and this time it's not blowing bubbles in my bowl of water, it seems to be actually functional again!
And oddly when I hooked it to my bike the rear and front both still had a bit of air pressure in them, I have the back set to 15 psi now with the pump still attached so I can observe any leakage from the seal
The right side shock in question has a couple rips in the boot and oily residue so it is definitely leaking some. I wonder if a clean set of 2007 shocks will be an improvement over these (even if my current shock still holds pressure for a while) (I did run them for a long while with barely any psi since my pump failed) I guess for under $70 I can experiment?
Well hell, the shocks are still at 20 psi and no leak..... It definitely left oil on the floor that night, confused. Surely if that was the last of the oil in the shock I would have seen signs before that night.
The 2007 shocks just arrived but I still have not seen more oil leak. Trying to decide if I use them of pay shipping to return , they do have different valving and are 9 years younger than mine, and no torn boot... And I am a cheapskate , HA!!!!
