Your old shock(s) will leak when you start riding. Change the oil in the newer ones and install them.

Seems the newer ones use a LOT more air pressure that the Evo era shocks.

Well the bubble wrap was oily but I polished up a rod and hung them from my saw horses, took out the fittings and I found my old syringe which worked beautifully, pretty clean shocks, same amount of oil in each roughly, fluid too dirty.. (edit.. fluid NOT too dirty)

Bodes well.

Are you going to reuse the air lines or switch to Schraeder valves? Those air lines are almost certainly going to leak. They're junk.

Seems the lines are just for convenience, and maybe so if there is a leak both shocks leak equally, but I plan to order some fluid and valves today. Now down the rabbit hole od "10w or 15w, fork oil or shock oil. what brand. etc.."

Yamaha has 1 bottle of Belray 10w, and ACE hardware has the shrader valves. That is pretty good results for this 2 horse town in SEOHIO

That Belray 10 W would probably be just about right.

I got the only bottle of shock oil in town, and I found the fittings at Napa, exactly 2 in stock.. 10 oz of fresh oil in each, worked well pushing it in a little at a time and sucking the bubbles out (kinky)... Almost zero waste. I put 10 psi in both shocks and cleaned them with some soapy water, going to observe for leaks and install tomorrow
