I'm going to run an Andrews EV46 cam. I live just outside of St. Louis and come to find out all the Harley dealers around here send their machine work to Widman Suzuki. Widman was a Harley dealer up until 2002 and has all the equipment for the Harleys still. They charge $100 for both jugs and they do use torque plates. If I bring them directly to any dealer around here they just take it to Widman and then mark that $100 up to $200.

Ok one more thing. Under the description for the EV46 it says this.
Bolt in performance Harley Davidson cam with fast open & close ramps. Similar to EV3 but higher static compression pressure for 6000+ RPM with stock heads and hydraulic lifters.

The thing that concerns me it it says higher static compression than the EV3. I'm not sure I want more static compression with 10 to 1 pistons. Would the EV3 be a better choice than the 46 for me? Or will 10 to 1 with the 46 be ok on pump gas. Most places I ride have 93 octane but some are 91 and we have hot summers in St. Louis. Thoughts?

I hear ya Blown 331. I am in a similar situation, however am thinking about saving my $, if I can make it another season or so of riding, and then just springing for a new motor, specifically the ultima 107. Personally if I were you I would spend a little more and go with the Woods Cam W6. Here is a link. http://www.woodcarbs.com/products.htm
I have never heard anything bad about Bob Woods cams.
I am contemplating doing the same thing as you, just don't know if I wanna spend any more $ on my evo and only end up with another 5-10 horse from anywhere from 600-1000 bucks. I know it is a cheap er fix than taking the plunge, but still if I can finagle it, I will go in for the 107, as it makes 115 HP to the rear wheel and 120 ft pounds of torque, compared to the slightly modified evo that I now have that barely makes 70 ponies and 72 Ft. pounds of torque. I would like to be able to see the difference between night and day, and believe that I would with the 107. Just remember that after you have done your new top end, you will have to baby it for the first 500 or so miles.
