Over the past few months I have noticed that my battery is losing water from the outside cells after everyride. I have topped this up usually every month but now seem to have to do it every week or so. (I live in a warm climate)
I have checked all the normal stuff:
Battery always has 12.0 to 12.2 of charge when I check it (Even after a week)
Charging up at 14.4 at 2500rpm and above
The bike always starts and I have not had any worry with electrics.
I have not had the battery checked for a bad cell but wonder if someone can give me a bit of direction.
If the battery has to go (It is onle 18months old) would a sealed unit be a good replacement?
Had the same problem with my 1995 xlh1200. Battery lasted 4 years but I had to make sure it always had water. Replaced this year with the sealed Harley battery. So far I have had no problems.
