Default Edelbrock

Have any of you used the Edelbrock performer series set-ups? I used their stuff years ago in my auto's. Was wondering how their stuff compared to others.

Love their products for the evo--have used them since '93 on several models.

I'm looking at the EVO Performer And the EVO Performer RPM packages. I would like to feed my Fatboy stock 96" Harley's but I don't want to sacrifice too much reliability. I got more respect on my 1200 Sportster! Sure miss that bike.

I had one fitted to my 1990 Evo, when I had the motor rebuilt a few years ago with stroker flywheels, high comp pistons, cam etc.The bikeran OK, but was not as sweet as I would have liked. I eventually realised the carb was not up to the state of tune of my bike and ran too lean. I currently have a Holley twin-choke on it, but thatis way too much carburettor and runs too rich.

So I am now waiting for a Mikuni HSR42 kit, in the hope that third time will be lucky! At least a local mechanic I have recently discovered knows his Mikunis and recommended that size for my bike. I never found anyone with the knowledgeto sort either the Edelbrock or Holley.

The reason for saying all that is to suggest you buy a carb which you can get local expert support for. An Edelbrock expert would probably have sorted mine, if I could have found one. When I bought the Holley that was me looking around for something 'better', but still not making a good choice! The Mikuni may not be the best there is, but I have an expert who can set it up just right.

Go with the mikuni or S&S . No one supports the edelbrock stuff but them . All indy shops and most hd dealers have part and jets for the S&S and mikuni's . They are both great carbs . If you want a package there are several companies out there that are totally devoted to harley . You should call Headquarters or find a engine shop and look at an S&S kit .

i have a set of Edelbrock rpm heads on my motor they have made it get up and go
i had an S&S on my bike but have gone to a mikuni with better results . the mik has better throttle response though it has a rattly throttle slide common to them , don't hear it with my pipes though
