If you have a stock motor and pull a trailer, get one. A Brother of mine had his case crack from the flexing of the motor against the inner primary. It was a stock motor in a 85 bagger.
Have you installed the Carlinitorque arm yet. Which model did you buy? I have found a SE race brace ( same thing ) but the fellow doesn't want to send it until we make sure its the right one. Did you use the one for the FXR or the FXD ? Carli has them listed as C-1 for the 91-98 yr. fxd and C-2 for the 84-94 fxr. SE numbers are 66693-98 for the fxr and 66680-98 for the fxd.
