Default Need Belt!

Looking around I see anywhere from 130-200 for 136 tooth 1.5 in wide drive belts...Anyone have a good shop or mail order? I snapped mine clean with my modded motor, Belt was adjusted and halfway new...4th into 5th power shift and bingo...

I run a 127" with about 145 hp and before that a 110" with 125 HP never hada problem with the belt, itnow has 30K on itwith powershifts burn outsetc. I would be concerned about the alignment, tension of the beltor condition of the sprockets. I picked up a new thunderstar chrome rear pulley complete with new belt on Ebay for 150 (haven't installed it yet).

I have just bought a new Firebolt, with 102bhp claimed and belt life? Life of the bike! So there are surely belts out there that can cope with serious power for a while. Is a new factory belt out of the question? [:'(]

When I had my motor stroked and tuned I had both sprockets and the belt replaced. Do all three of them at the same time.

My 175 hp TwinCam is still being held back by an1 1/2" belt.It was bought off EBay 136 tooth for about $80.00.It is all about tension and alignment.Set right the belts should last for a very long time.

That is my understanding too! The only belt problem I have ever seen is on a bike the owner left the guard off - because he didn't like the look of it. Cost him a sharp stone through the belt - andnew pulleys and a belt. [:@]
