Do you have a spring-type clip holding the connector from the regulatoron the outside of the case? If it is missing, that might cause it to weep. Mine is an '86 and I do not think I had it originally. The alternator & regulator was replace around '92 or93 and I believe the clip was added at that time.
It depends on your definition of "weeping". I find it easier to spray some Simple Green on the area occasionally, scrub with one of the kids toothbrushes and hose it off.
My 86 FLHT had the spring thingie from the factory.
If it bothers you, a little ultrablacksilicone on the outside plug would probably take care of it. It only has to come off if something Otherwise, (un-easy method) pull the primary, pull the inside plug and silicone that back in place. Or just live with it.

I had this problem a few months ago on my 1990 FLHS, which I have owned from new. It was leaking wet oil, more than I was prepared to put up with! Therubber plug had deterioriated and would no longer seal properly, nor would sealant fix it, so I had the stator replaced in November (reduced rates at the dealer for off season Winter services!).
