Default It's finally stripped

Having recovered 90% from my accident a few months ago, I've been working bit by bit on stripping my custom frame for a trip to the frame builder for a straightening. Shouldn't take much to true it up but it is a little tweaked at neck and rear. I tacked tabs for the exhaust mounts(will have them TIGged) then had to get a riding buddy's kid(6ft, 200lb) to lift the engine out. My right leg is still atrophied from months of inactivity and I couldn't do it myself.
Had to do pipe mounts 'cause my nice high drags are obsolete and I couldn't find them anywhere(they were smashed pretty good). Going with some low drags. Will have the frame shop do mounts for my new WCC stretched Sporty type tank(more gas, peanut only held 2 usable gal.)
Still not sure whether I'll do the pcoat for frame, tank and fenders. I have friend who is a terrific painter who is bugging me to let him do it in urethane. Haven't discussed $ with him yet but if I can afford it I will.
The WG forks held up real well but as I removed them several rollers fell out of the bottom bearing, the retainer apparently cracked when the bike landed on the front.
Don't know how long it will take for the frame work but am ordering parts and hope to be able to reassemble the bike soon.
Wish me luck, guys!

I must be the world's worst poster, never seem to get a response. Anybody know why this is?

Dejavu, the problem here is thatmost of these guys on this site own new bikes with "twinkies" so they cannot relate to what you're building or doing. Just look at how many new posts the EVO section gets, barely any at all. You're best bet is to check out some other sites dedicated to your type of build. Have you checked out "The Horse Backstreet Choppers" magazine? They have a website with forums. Granted they're not as up to date and hip as this one, but they still serve their purpose. Go to http://www.thehorsemag.com/and check out the forums.

A buddy of mine had shotgun pipes like yours on his bike. He had me modify them and they look good now but I thought they looked pretty cool the way they were originally too.
Heal well.

Hello Dejavu

What happen!, what cause the accident?...Glad ya is doing ok, I know what that's like to be hit riding a bike, I was hit by a drunk driver Back in 1977..

Sorry to hear about yours. I was riding comfortably down a 2 lane country road when I saw a small car approaching in the opposite lane. In that situation it is impossible to tell if a car is slowing down unless they hit the brakes hard enough that the front end dips. As I got up to it I sawthe front wheel start turning as she pulled a hard left turn into a driveway, no warning, no signal, right in front of me. Soley on reaction I laid it over into a knee draggin' left of my own, aiming for the opposite lane and just clipped her bumper, unfortunately my leg was between the bike and the car.
Reviewing the accident, I don't know of any way I could have avoided it. It was as if she timed it so that I would not have the time or distance to react. This was on my route to work and I pass quite a few cars on a daily basis, the ranches and homes are sparse with drives unmarked and often just dirt paths.

Diavolo, thanks for the tip on "The Horse", had a script back before they had to change the name to "Backstreet". Didn't know they were still in business!

Megawatt, I really liked the way the pipes flowed with the lines of thebike, really disappointed they are unavailable now, I even checked with Samson hoping they might have a set stashed somewhere. The straight drags will look good, though they will change the character of the bike some.
