Reach up behind the primary and see if it's wet/damp up there. If so then it could be any of the seals where the trans mates up with the primary. In my case, it was the "J" tube or trans vent hose, a J shaped hose that comes out of the top of the trans. Real thick oil and/or overfilling can cause it to mist out of the hose and run down the back side of the primary, looks like anything from main seal to drain plug issue...but it drips right off the primary drain plug.
Do not over due the teflon tape or over tighten the primary drail plug or you run the risk of splitting the primary cover, it's real then by the plug. Hard to spot and harder yet to tstop the leak...
I thought I had the same issue - would get about a silver dollar size puddle a day that I was sure was coming from the plug. Asked the dealer to look into the leak from the plug during visit and they informed me the derby cover was warped and needed to be replaced. I said I'd replace it (wanted to shop around for options of covers) and when I picked it up it hasn't leaked sense - I guess the tech put it back on "just right".
