Default softail owners

Hi, I was wondering how your fuel line is routed from petcock to carb. I am asking because mine is a big u shape down between the jusgs and toches the rear on on occasion. also when I am low on fuel the bike sometimes dies ( no sputtering) then comes back to life in a second. Vapor lock maybe?
Thanks

Thats how mine is also routed, I have a fuel filter mounted in the middle to keep the line off of the jugs.

Same thing on mine, with a fuel filter inline, so if it ever hits, it hits the filter.
