That sounds like a reasonable price to me also. \\; One thing, though, that I always do when buying a used carb: \\; Consider it in full need of a rebuild. At best, a kit and a thorough cleaning. \\; In my experience, every used carb is not on the vehicle now because it wasn't running right.
man up the street from me works on harleys and builds cust,
\\;he just put a bunch of stuff on a guys bike and knew i was not happy with my stock carb on my 84 evo so he oferd the guy 50 bucks for the works to ofset the mans bill, nothing wrong with his old carb he just wanted the latest and gratest, plus he is going to put it on and tune it for me , i'll let you know how it works out
I had the stock carb on my 87 and never any problems but the fuel mileage got bad as gas got worse over the years and changing the exhaust was likely a lot of it. Changed to CV last year and got my mileage up by 10mpg, slow and high speed. I luv it! You got a bargain, in my book.....
All good except the Thunderslide. You can use a 45 pilot, \\;165 main jet &\\; 65n needle off an 88 1200 Sportster and run just as good with 10= more MPG. They are WAAAAAAY too rich &\\; the brass needles wear out. Been there, done that. Genreally they get removed because of rotten gas mileage. Pretty simple carb, easy to rebuild with just carb cleaner, gaskets are usually good
