Default EVO Drive Belt

getting ready to put a new rear tire on my 92 FLTC was wondering what is the expected life of a drive belt. Hitting at 40,000 miles and just wondering if I should go a head and replace it when I do the rear tire.

It is much more involved than changing the tire. Inner primary, swingarm has to come off. I had 88,000 on my belt and only changed it cause I had a leak and had to pull the inner. It was a waste of money. If the belt is not physically damaged on the side or from rocks chewing up the teeth, it will last nearly forever. have read of 105,000+ miles on a belt. 44,000 is low mileage for a belt.

PS, that's a really good looking Tour Glide too.

thanks it does not look bad,&nbsp\\;\\\\\\;was thinking of the age pushing 16 years old. it could probable wait another rear tire or two.
&nbsp\\;
thanks, was thinking of trading up but it's paid for and still rides good. Paint is good but was looking at a metalic black flake paint job. When they told me $1,800 to $2,800 I discovered my color was just fine.&nbsp\\;

ive been told they will last the bike. i saw one on a 1988 that the guy put a 113 motor and six speed trans in. it had gotten fraid on the outer edge because they guy didn't align it. it was still looked ok, didn't break and was pretty chewed up. there pretty strong.

Check the sprockets especially the trans if squared off replace The trans sprocket was updated in late 93 ( better system) You don't have to remove the swing arm to replace the rear belt!

My first belt went about 30,000 miles.&nbsp\\; My notes say "locking bolt broke, belt torn up."&nbsp\\; I don't remember what that locking bolt is now.&nbsp\\; The second went 12,000 miles.&nbsp\\; Then I replaced both pulleys and stopped doing wheelies.&nbsp\\; I have about 35K on the third belt and it is showing no signs of wear.
