I'm pretty sure the only difference is that on the 94 and down they used a muffler with a flange that bolted up, 95 and up used a slip on muffler with a torca clamp.

I have late model (1994+) Samson true duals on my 1990 Glide, with late model mufflers. As plj says, earlier exhausts had a different pipe to muffler join, so you cannot mix early with late. If you use all post-1994 stuff, like me, you should be OK. I only fitted my Samsons with S&S oval mufflers earlier this year.

my bike has a pipe that you slip the muffler on then clamp it tight

i have strait pipes with fishtails on the stock header pipes now
what i want to do is replace the header pipe with the two head pipes that come with the set i gave the link too , the ones on ebay say they will work on a 85 to a 2006 , i have a 84 FLHTC with a evo motor so i guess that means i have a late 84 because i have sean 84's with shovels
the pipes i have found for my year say they work on 79 to 84 which makes me think they are foe shovels
what i was hoping was someone here may know if these pipes will work on mine or will i need to make something to get them to bolt to my bike where my stock pipes hang or will my trany get in the way of the back pipe

sorry post is so long
