mikuni, accel pump
hi to you all, i run a mid 80s 1340 evo with a mikuni flatside carb, the bike runs sweet but starting from cold can be a pain. i suspect that the fuel accel pump isnt working can anyone confirm that with the air cleaner off and looking down the throat of the carb with the engine not running,should i actually be able to see petrol squirting from the accel pump nozzle? when i twist the throttle ?. because nothings happening ....once warm bike starts easy. choke is working ok. hope this makes sense your thoughts appreaciated cheers

Some carbs (mostly older auto) have a vacuum actuated accelerator pump, but not the case here. You should see fuel squirt. Here's the company instructions in pdf. form:
