Look at the VIN to see if it is an FXRT. It is certainly not dressed as one today. FXRT's had the bubble fairing on them and some small fiberglass bags. After 25 years of "my bike is CUSTOM...," there's no telling what it could look like today.

The fifth & sixth # of the vin. reads EB so from what i have all read on this thread, i guess it's the FXRS. Does anyone know what the fifth & sixth numbers are for the 1985 FXRT? Any Pictures of a 1985 FXRT please post?

Default Got it it is a FXRS SUPER GLIDE SPORT!

I called Harley Davidson customer service 414~343~4056 , they said by the Vin. # It is a FXRS Super Glide Sport. It was built in Dec. 1984 there were 3,750 bikes made that year, and with my Vin. # reading EBL there were 960 made of my bike original paint Black with Stripe. She said i have a pretty rare bike by the sounds of it. Thanks for all the info, keep it coming.

I think you made a typo there. If the 5th and 6th letter of the VIN is EB, then it's a FXRS. If it's EC, then it's a FXRT.

Secondly, the FXRS was called many things over the years, and Harley changed the name, or had different versions over the production run (Super Glide II, Low Glide, Low Rider, etc. To the best of my knowledge, the FXRT ( the "T" stood for Touring) was always called the Sport Glide, and started production in '83 (Shovel powered). I can't remember what year they stopped making them, but they ran for a number of years, and transitioned to the Evo powered version in '84.

The only other "bagger" version of the FXR series was the FXRD ("D" stood for dresser). This was the Grand Touring Edition with a top case, hard bags, sound system, big fairing, and dual FLH style exhaust. Lot of guys called this bike a baby FLH. This bike was only made in '86 (I think) and was Evo powered.

I am on my 3rd drive belt. The tranny was sloppy when I bought it, and still is. I have a newer Ultra for most riding, but when I want to look cool.........
