I love my 85 WG. Lots of power and it has "good vibrations". Good highway cruising. You need to be (or have) a good mechanic. They are less reliable than new bikes but I like the simplicity, the kicker and the lower price. I like to tinker.

i know what you mean about the sportster vibes. i havent rode a 04 or newer rubbermounted so i cant comment on them. the evos didnt vibe as bad as the ironheads but they still sung to you at highway cruising.

I've had my 85 FXWG since new and still love it. the shifter shaft arm broke a couple of years ago but it was an easy fix. motor and trans are all original. even still has the original starter, carb and most other parts.
