Default Cam Recomendation for Classic

I'm going back in. Just completed a topend rebuild on my 1998 CLHTCI and have about 1500 miles on rebuild. Was told by Harley Service that I need to change my cam bearing as for it's time with 67K miles on it. While I'm in there, I will replace the cam and lifters along with the bearing. My question is being that I have the Harley Stage 1 download with open element air filter and Sampson pipes, what cam should i put in it. Should I go with a stock HD cam, Screaming Eagle and or Andrews, Crane.... ? I do not want to add a tuner to the package. Looking for a nice cam I can run with the HD download......

Thanks

I just replaced the cam in my 96 wideglide. People are going to tell you a lot of different opinions here as far as cams are concerned. I know-I asked the same question recently!
Seems like the andrews EV13, EV3 and EV 27 are all good choices according to the responses I recieved. EV13 will actually help your bike to run cooler! If you go to thier web site they have a description of thier cams based on your riding style.
A good number of people will also say that the Woods-6 cam is the way to go. Seems like a good cam from what I have read.
Make sure when you do your cam that you do lifters-also DO NOT have them put in the infamouse INA bearing. Put in the Torrington bearing.
Myself; I ended up going with the tried and true EV27 cam. Havent ridden the bike yet, however it just got off the dyno a couple weeks ago! Here are the numbers-
HP-77
TQ-85.9
This is with punched-out stock pipes and free flowing air cleaner.Thats it! Ultimately,do your research and you decide. Good luck!

I agree about the EV27, they work great if your compression is bumped up to around 10:1 too, although on a MMI bike I would absolutly install a tuner or you'd be shooting in the dark.

The Crane Fireball 3162B is a righteous little cam.
