Default Solenoid

Has anyone installed one of these push button solenoid covers? I've seen them in j&p cycles. Also, does the Harley dealer sell them, or are they strictly aftermarket? Thanks in advance. KC

I don't think Harley sells'em. You can get them from Jireh Cycles for about $20.00 They work just fine. These things are pretty straight foward. A cover and a plunger button +3 screws.

I have one that I originally bought for my gimpy stock solenoid when it began giving the Click of Death. I replaced the starter/solenoid with a nice new Ultima chrome one for $140 on eBay - but I put the pushbutton on it, just to have a backup in case the CoD ever comes back. It's cheap insurance against being stranded in a mall parking lot (or worse) because your starting system is in a bad mood... wouldn't be without it!

Thanks for the info guys. Once in a blue moon, mine just clicks. I usually just jump it at the solenoid with a short piece of wire, but a push button would be a lot easier.

It's there if you need it. In a pinch in the middle of no where land,it'll come to the rescue.
