Well that's something new to talk about! What do you have in mind? I converted my original 80" to a 90" by stroking it. I cheated a bit there, as a rebore plus an 89" flywheel kit made it up to 90"!

What I considered next was an overbore kit, with my stroker crank, but my old cases were not suitable. Sputhe, if I recall, do up to 106", but I would need new cases. At that point I started looking at new motors and settled on my S&S 107.

There are a few builders who call by HDF on occasions, might be worth talking to one or two of them.

I looked at the S&S 96" big bore kits for Bertha - but they are "not recommended" on pre-1996 engines. CRAP! Missed out by one year! Anyone know the change made to the case in '96 that allows the big bore kits?

Speaking of something different... tonight I noticed that my front cylinder base casket is bubbling a bit on the right front corner. Is that where one of the oil passages is? Looks like I will be taking the top end apart before too long. I'll put a Hayden Oil Fix in there, but...

Since I'll be taking the heads and jugs off to replace the base gaskets anyway - that opens up a whole new world of possibilities as to fun things I can do with the heads, springs, valves, jugs, pistons, etc...

Let the recommendations and opinions begin! sort of...

I'm not entirely certain, but I have read of occasional problems with the primary side crank bearing coming loose in the case, even cracking of the case around it. They beefed the cases up and possibly increased the distances between cylinder studs? So later cases are stronger and there is more meat (that's a technical expression!) around the cylinder openings and we can machine them to take bigger bores, so they become as weak as the earlier cases....

Sputhe Axtell and others make replacement cases that can take the bigger bore, supply them ready machined, but things start getting expensive then.

Most of the 96" Evo's we've seen don't seem to make the HP per cubic inch of the other combinations. We believe the engine math didn't work out for the parts available at the time. Now ten or so years later 96" engines are overlooked, but might be worth looking at for a budget minded builder. As a matter of fact we are assembling the pieces for a customer for a build. He wants it for the summer so I wll let you know how it turns out.

That sounds like a workable solution!. Various options there, but the 13.2:1 version makes the eyes water.
