My personal opinion is the Metzlers. I have ran them on all my dirt bikes, and quads for years with no regrets.

Not to say Dunlops or Avons are not any good, but when I find something that works, and gives me no headaches, I stick with it!

I also use the ME880's and I will say they may not last as long as some others, but they provide me with the best results in rain, and dry pavement!

Metzler ME88 on the front, Dunlop D402 on the back on my bike. Metzler lasertecs on the Sporty. I've had lasertecs on my bike. Handled great, but didn't last all that long.

I've always run the Dunlops on my FLHS. They have their 'quirks', but after seventeen year of running them (numerous pairs), I'm used to them. I generally just pull the old ones off the bike, take them in to the 'stealer, and have them mount up a new pair. Probably could save some coin by using other vendors, but it's not something that I do every year.

I have a Metzeler 880 on the front,Dunlop back. When the Dunlop wears out,I'll go with a Metzeler.

I run Metzeler. Avons are nice, too. Dunlops are not in the same league. Not even close. I ran a Cheng-Chins rear once, and I prefered it to the Dunlops, too. I was able to get a Cheng-Chin 150 rear for $40 my cost from Drag at the time. As far as wear goes, the Cheng-Chin wore like iron, the Dunlops last OK, too. The Avons and Metz wear faster, but the extra grip is worth it to me. When the 880's get warm they are pretty sticky.

I was in a pinch before.....and I had a Cheng-Chin rear tire installed on my old FXRT. I don't remember the model number or model name....but that tire really sucked though. It was extremely inexpensive.....but at 3,000 miles, it was shot and worn out. Cheap tire for emergency situation......or someone low on cash.

I've never slipped off the road due to tire brand.......but have gotten low mileage on some elcheapo tires!

Dunlop MH90-21 on the front and Dunlop 130/90B-16 on the rear. Doesn't look as cool as some of the newer fatties but skinny tires have some serious advantages when it comes to grip in slippery conditions (oh yeah and cheaper too).

Avon Venoms, but remember to go on their site for reccomendations and reccomended tire pressures. Too many people change brands of tires and still run the factory reccomended pressures. The Avon's usually run higher pressures than the Dunlops. The right pressure in the tire will assure maximum tire life and performance. Hope this helps
