Default '87 FXLR Forward Controls

Just picked up a 87 FXLR and can't believe nobody has changed from mid controls on this machine. So I'm starting to look. So far I've found a reasonable kit from Drag Specialties, but has anyone found any extensions for these kits. I'm kinda tall and need a little room.

I'm 6', when I got my fxr, that had f/c, I thought I would need extensions. But went with a lapera bare bones, sits lower and farther back than the stock seat. Don't need extensions. just something to check out before you go the expense.

I am 6'2 and with thw forward controlls and seat its a stretch, kinda hard to shift under power (127ci) I used the kit from ultima 225 bucks and added some kureaken (cant spell) heal supports almost feals like floor boards.!! much better. If you would like to get rid of the mids let me now my cousin is looking for some....at the right price.

Ditto on the bare bones. The only drawback of the bare bones is when you punch it your *** slides back.

Had the same problem, put my knee at the lower crease and gave it a lift. Put 3/4" bumpers under the seat back to hold it there. Looks like factory. Still not primo for longer rides, but way better than sliding off the back, and gives a little (very little) back support. With the p-pad, really can't tell that it's not supposed to be that way.

I like my Corbin gunfighter with forwards on my 92 FXLR. good lower back support, and no sliding when punchin it.
