Has anyone heard both of these mufflers? Which sounds better and why? I currently have the ebay muffs and have been looking for something a little louder/deeper when on the gas. The sound clips I have heard of the older screaming eagles sound good.
I had the super flow 3's ( they sucked )and recently bought the whole set up that is Rush's head pipe and mufflers in the 2.25's and the sound is terrific and so is the cost, check with Drago's here on the forum and I'm sure there are others here that would want your business, and cheaper than ebay.
Thats a tough one... I've got some old ('94) SE's on my bike and would put its sound/tone up against any other pipe out there. They sound great to me... When I bought the wife's Sportie, I was going to go with SE's on it and was told that I wouldnt like them since the EPA got ahold of them.. After doing a little homework, I found a couple of friends who had tried them and hated them, claiming they werent much louder than stock, which I think is terrible..
I havent tried the Super Flows.. But, I did end up putting Vance and Hines slip ons on her bike.. They sound like a boat exhaust, at the waterline.. A definite "blub-blub-blub-blub....". Sounds good, but not quite what we were looking for...
I'd do some searches on youtube and see what pipe's you like. Then of course, hit some rallys....

Hey Greg,
I have the ole SEs (not the SEIIs) on my bike also. They are pretty loud. In fact mine has no baffles in them, and I have made some out of eyebolts and washers, but have not put them in yet. John (Miacycles) gave me some advice on doing it. I want them to get a little low rpm torque back, being I don't rev mine any where near redline.

Yea, I have the tapered version on this bike (look stock) and had the baloney cuts on both, my 1200 and my other Dyna.. Personally, although the other brands change the look, I could never understand the desire to spend $500 to get something that just doesnt have the same quality of sound as these.. To me, they sound like a Harley.. The V/H I put on the wifes bike, just doesnt give me the same feeling... We like em just fine, but I wouldnt buy them again..
I'm sure John gave you all you need, but I saw an article (maybe on nightrider) that gave a great description of adding an eye bolt with a washer welded in the hole, to adjust backpressure.. Good idea if you dont have the baffles..
Are the older ones the cycle shack ones or the supertrapp se's? I have heard the older removable baffle SE mufflers were the super trapps. If they were the cycle shack what is the current model?
