Not wanting to interrupt the MG lovefest (I too, like the Brit sportscars)...

I own a 93 FLHS. It was the last year for that model, as HD introduced the RK in 1994. I like to refer to them as the 'ugly-glides', due to the huge instrument cluster, that there's no hope in ever hiding.

The price is 'about average'. I would think that current market values for that bike would be in the $6500 - $8500 bracket. All depending on a bunch of 'ifs'.

When you get it, let me know. I can give you a whole lot of 'what to look fors'.

We can also help out on a lot of 'if onlys'! And help you spend your spare cash on really worthwhile goodies! Post pics when it is home.

Back to cars for a moment.

Brings a tear to the eye! I suspect it was a 60s or 70s front driver?

Never had an MG, but I've worked on a MGB that a friend owned. He said it cost him $1K every time he drove it.
There is an entire MGB industry over here these days. Parts are probably easier to get today than when they were in production, including new entire body shells.

These are my English cars:
Ah, Loti! Spent some of my spare time under a few over the years. One of my college friends is a life-long enthusiast, even written books on them. Currently has a single seater racer he sprints, as well as his latest Elan. I see a Europa and presumably a 7, undergoing surgery? Hope it be well soon!

Yeah, that Austin (I think, or maybe a "Riley"?) was a 60's or 70's FWD. There's probably a pic of it somewhere starting on here:

If you see one on a trailer, that was it.

I think we had a MGF at our show last year. The Seven in my pic is actually a Locost that I'm building from scratch. That was shortly after I painted it. I'm doing wiring and plumbing now. I'm in my 10th year on the build. Progress slowed after I bought the Esprit. I bought the Europa about 2 years ago. It is as they are found in the wild, that is, "Free Range Europa": Last ran 20 years ago, head in the boot, etc. It has to wait until the Locost is done, or at least on the road (are they ever done?)

Possibility: The drive sprocket has loosened up and is making contact with the inner primary. One of the 93 MoCo things that was corrected in 94. Either get the HD kit, or spend some $$$ and upgrade to the aftermarket kit. Check for a small leak which will seem like the outer primary is leaking. In reality it's transmission oil leaking down the shaft onto the inner primary, then onto the floor.

You will want to repair this ASAP. I've had my done twice. Both times I was 'a long way' from home. I'd have to look up how many hours labor the stealers charge for this, but IIRC, it's around two - two and a half hours.

There's always stuff to work out on a new used vehicle. How's the belt tension? Primary chain tension? Are you in NW AR?

Hacked, can you feel the looseness or get a screwdriver in there to wiggle it? How else can you diagnose that?

I'm near Fayetteville. I don't know any indy's down there, but Old Fart, I mean, Old Fort HD has treated me fair and I bet they could check that noise out for you reasonable.

Base gasket failures, as noted, are very common. As in every single one. A minor PITA to fix.
