I saw this 1986 FLT on craigslist the other day...

http://inlandempire.craigslist.org/mcy/1715578472.html

Only $5900 with a fresh factory rebuild and new cam...sounds like a pretty good deal to me but I don't have room for another bike. It is hard to believe that prices have dropped that much on evos. I would think that thing would be gone in a minute for that price but it looks like he had it listed at $5995 since April 3rd with no takers: http://orangecounty.craigslist.org/mcy/1675600360.html

2 weeks ago, was at a Hot Rod show in Valley Center. I thought someone was taking off on my bike (95th Anniv. Ultra Classic). He followed us up to the Hideout too. Really Cool! It has been the only other Ultra I've seen running around in San Diego. Seen other 95th's (Classic and 2 RK's). they are out there for sure, but as you say, outnumbered by twinkies.

Connecticut Motorcycle Riders Association

CT does not currently have a helmet law. You can thank CMRA for that.

Some pics from Sunday. The first one is my bike warming up in the driveway just before leaving home. The others are some of the Shovels I spotted there.

In my group of riders 3 of us have EVOs. All of us also own a Twin Cam, but if we go somewhere that we anticipate seeing a lot of bikes we take the EVOs becuase they definately stand out. We also have someone that has a Panhead talk about an attention getter!

I would expect there to be a lot more twinkies than Evos anywhere you go - because except for 99 Softails and a few 99/2000 FXRs, 1998 was the last year of the Evo... and that's 12 years ago! The big build up of well-heeled "new age" Harley riders has been since the TC arrived in 1999 - and the MoCo has built many more twinkies than they ever built Evos.

We are a consumer society, and Americans just love new stuff. Go to any restaurant, bar, etc, and see how many cars 12 or more years old you see in the parking lot... probably not too many.

Or maybe Evo riders just don't hang out as much at the "biker" places. I know I don't. My wife and I have been to several rallies in the past, but the last one we attended was two years ago. We usually just ride by ourselves, and we don't very often stop at places with long lines of bikes parked outside.

Yes, there have been many more TC's built than Evo's, but no one throws a Harley away. There must be hundreds of thousands of Evo's just sitting in garages somewhere. Or maybe they all get shipped overseas. 'Cause it's a rare thing to spot one.
