Default EVO Issues

Well, I've dealt with the INA cam bearing and the plastic breather. What other known issues or weak spots on the EVO engine are there?

A big issue I have is having to pass those Twincams all the time. Damn things just won't move out of the way.

Keep an eye on your lifters. Consider it normal service at 40 or 50K (+/-).

At this point in time it is likely your bike has left them all behind. Ride and enjoy it, don't provoke the gods to rain down on you by talking about things that might but probably won't happen!

Mechanically, EVOs are solid as rocks. Hardly any weak spots compared to twinkies... once you get things dialed-in, you can run Evos for many many miles!

Keep everything torqued correctly, and let it warm up until the rocker boxes are quite warm (about 5 mins, or "suiting up and a smoke!") before you blast off, so the aluminum cylinders and heads can expand and seal up the base and head gaskets nice and tight before they have to handle high pressure... that will greatly lessen the chances of these gaskets starting to leak.

Not Evo-specific, but always check your oil level before riding, and keep it clean. I change it about every 3000 miles. And don't forget to check the tire pressure regularly... you'd be surprised at how many riders neglect doing that!

Otherwise, just ride your Evo and enjoy it!
