yes my 1984 FLHTC it is alive....just need to get a paint job, but it rides....went down the street at about 50 went no hands and it went striat...cool.....thanks for all you help guys....
ya i am going to ride.... just one thing..... any way to to mod the turn signal... i hate to have to keep the button press in....
On my 1990 there is an electronic module that does signal duties. You press the button to turn them on, then press again to turn off. Press them both and they all flash together. It is quite expensive as a Harley part (if they are still made) but there may be an aftermarket alternative.
My 90 is the same as Graham's, even has a thing that cancels it after a number of flashes and I think a thing that cancels it after you lean it over and then back up.
Congrat's on getting it running. Paint is way over-rated. Nothing quite as bad as a primer grey bike/car/truck barrelling down the road. IMHO

I had forgotten about that. It was so annoying (like turning itself off at the wrong moment) that I disabled it. There is a white/green wire to the speedo which is easy to disconnect.

Tomato/tomatoe - I kind of like it.... the quest to see what it is going to do this time! Will it turn off, will it keep blinking, did I lean it over far enough? These are the simple questions that can occupy the mind when it is uncluttered of distractions like paying bills, dealing with teenagers, etc.

I got tired of finding, when giving heavy traffic plenty of warning I was going to turn, that as I was making the turn the darned things had decided they wanted a rest from all this blinking! That white/green wire has insulated ends and can be left lying around safely. Removes one item of clutter!
gnafin, I have a new in box kit that I was going to install and then my newer wire harness had one. I gave $75 for it ... it does come with the wiring and instructions. Let me know.
