Question Jack Shaft Pinion Gear delema

I did a dry test on my Ground up build Custom Softail today and noticed something I totally over looked.
I bought a SPIKE Jackshaft assembly for a Softail Im building with a 1997 Evo in a MID USA frame.
The clutch assembly is a Primo with a 66 tooth ring gear.
The Jackshaft is a 10 tooth not a 9 tooth.

Totally my bad!!!, never even downed on me.

I bought the whole inner primary assembly on Ebay and never realised the damn ring gear was a 66 tooth

Question,
Will any brand of pinion gear fit a Stock replacement SPIKE setup.

I can find replacements but not a SPIKE replacement unless I purchace the whole Jackshaft assembly again.
All I need is the Pinion gear period!!!

Any imput would really be appreciated.

I'm not sure myself but you could go to www.jpcycles.com and "chat" live with a Harley Tech who might know and also have the parts you need to get going. You might need to set up an "account" but it's free and simple; user name and password you create.

Default pinion ring gear spacing

someone said that to bring the pinion closer to the ring gear for more gear contact just put a washe under the pinion against the jackshaft to space the pinion closer and thus get more gear contact

Clearance isnt the problem, The Pinion Gear has too many teath and doesnt mesh with the Ring gear. I need to replace the 10 tooth with a 9 tooth.
I order stuff through J&P and have a account. Ill get intouch with the Tec. See what they say.
So close to having it running for the first time and now this set back, lolol
The cost of building over buying!!!

You have an old style ring gear & new style pinion gear. H-D changed to small tooth starter set-up in 97/98 (not sure when)
So, if you buy pinion gear for pre-'97 or so, you'll be good to go.
