Default Light Intermittent Smoke

Well about three years ago I purchased a97 FLHt out of a barn for a good price, but it has been alot of work. For the latest about five months ago a couple of cylinder studs backed out of the back cylinder I had the problem fixed with the help of a local machine shop, and a friend helped put it back together. All appeared well until the other day, when after a short ride 25 miles or so I stopped and noticed intermittent light smoke out of the rear cylinder exhaust. Prior to the cylinder stud problem the motor was rebuilt, 30 over, 10:1 compression pistons, new heads (Stock), valves, lifters, pushrods the works, same Mikuni carb as when purchased and Samson true dual exhaust (straight pipes). 91,000 miles on the bike. I also appear to have a nickle to quarter size oil spot under the breather tube after a ride more so when it is hot. The smoke developes after the bike has warmed up. Any suggestions would be appreaciated.
Thanks, Big Nate

Wouldn't worry about that little bit of breather oil esp. after a hard run. Blue smoke is oil burning could be a ring, valve guide, etc.? Good luck with it.

Tactical is right. it is a ring problem. if it were valve guides you would have smoke on deceleration. these are the two problems where oil is burned. a ring may have broken. make sure you have correct ring end gap in the cylinder before installing on the pistons.

Remove your spark plugs and check the color...That is a good barometer for what is going on inside the cumbustion chamber...As a good measure, if one head/cylinder has an issue, it's best to do both....I learned that the hard way!!! lol
