Default Adapter to allow me to use a CV on a stock '86 EVO

I have a bone stock '86 EVO Engine. I just recently purchased a complete CV carburetor setup off Ebay- manifold, carb, aircleaner, and cover.

When I went to install it, I noticed there was no place to really support the air cleaner or carb like on the 90+ engines.

Is there an adapter for this application made by anyone ?

If no adapter, what is the easiest solution to mount the CV on this engine ?

Thanks.

We have an adapter that turns a CV into a bolt-on carb, allowing you to use the stock manifold. Would that help you???

The stock manifold with the "compliance fittings" just has to go. The later style manifold is MUCH better. No more annual intake leaks. What isn't fitting?

I used this support bracket I got from V-Twin Mfg. Don't have the part # handy, but it's in the catalog. Get the one for the '90-'91 Evo w/CV carb.

The "mikuni" adapter costs about $15 or less and allows a spigot carb like the CV to mount up to a flange type manifold.

You'll need throttle cables

I had the screaming eagle air cleaner kit, when i swapped to the CV I reused it, just used different spacers between the heads and the brackets for the air cleaner.

I can send you a photo, pm me with your email address.

when I did the swap in 1992, the local dealer was doing a free dyno run day.
Ran the FXR with the butterfly carb at 68 HP, went home and swapped to the CV and 74 HP- that's before any work on the carb.
Which I have modded
