Holstermaker, let's try this on here then. I sent it in a pm because I don't want to hijack a thread where somebody is switching to a Evo.

While the mikuni has a marginal power advantage over SOME carburetors, its ugly appearance, awkward fitting, and constant slide knocking combined with a high wear rate, can make it less than attractive for some.
For most(whether they realise it or not) a CV is more than adequate, when correctly set-up(which could include venturi resizing if desirable).
Much cheaper as well.
You clearly cannot jet and tune an engine from an internet page. However, much(not all) of the article is pretty sound, and would be relevant if there was a match between engine and set-up(as is clearly assumed, but actually unknown).
